About us
After several years of developing different websites for personal use and for non-profit organizations we decided to create this website. We specialize in providing flexible dynamic websites with a strong back-end that connects a server-side language with the DBMS of your choice. The combination PHP / MySQL is used widely when it comes to this matter.
KF Webs has a crew that can handle a wide variety of programming and scripting languages. This is because we don't want to limit ourselves to a specific platform or system. Despite this PHP is the most used when it comes to websites, and although it can run on Windows systems, we prefer that it is hosted on Unix based system. This is because we feel that Unix is far more scalable and more flexible then any windows system can ever be.
KF Webs is registered in the Norwegian business register as an "Enkeltmannsforetak" (ENK) (more information) with the business ID 988 090 298.
Although we mostly use PHP, including for our websites, we are capable of creating websites in other languages and on other platforms. ASP is another platform that we work with much, writing server-side pages in VBScript. But because ASP can be somewhat limited, and requires external components, we can also write such components. An example of this is our DrawChart component. The setback of such components is that you often require to run on dedicated servers to be allowed usage of them.
The website can also be driven by a series of Perl scripts, or other CGI executables, written in eg C/C++. However we don't use this too much, because other languages are better suited to be used for the web.
For the client-side we have a good knowledge within HTML and XHTML, and as well with client-side scripting languages, like JavaScript. We focus on making the content accessible by several platforms and operating systems. To accomplish this we follow The World Wide Web Consortium's recommendations.

As the rest of this website indicate, I'm a fan of GNU/Linux and gave up on MS Windows years ago. As a fan of individualism, achievement and freedom, I'm also interested in GPG/PGP for encryption and digitally signing of documents, usually emails to ensure the authenticity of my communication parties. More information about PGP can be found on the PGP page
