It has been some time since I wrote my analyses about the COM and the NET TLD zone-file, located at www.kfwebs.net and and www.kfwebs.net respectively.

I haven't conducted a full analysis this time, but I grabbed a copy of the zonefile today and ran some small SQL queries against them. These resulted in the following data:

The number of active domain names (domains registered and included in the zonefile[1]) at the present time is 57,548,773 compared to 51,268,278 the 24th of April this year.

At the same time there were 361,420 domain names using the international domain name feature (punycode), today it is 497,819.

10,057 domain names starts with "google", 3,162 with "wii" and 10,937 with "ebay".
